Well... we spent quite a bit of time on the phone with the owner of this brokerage and we have to say that one of the things that impressed us most about Rivera Maya Real Estate Group is that they're very conscious of the market as a whole. Having been around for so long, they look at everything they and other agents do through the lens of "how will this affect the Mexican real estate industry's reputation". They're in it for the long haul and focused on protecting the industry's reputation in other countries and their actions reflect that.

Kim O’Connell is amazing! She was the best in assisting us with our transition out of the country. We talked to her months prior to moving and received us with open arms soon after arriving. We immediately got to looking at different units and she even suggested units we had not discussed and it turned out to be the best decision ever! She is so helpful in suggesting what is best for her clients no matter your situation. Her communication is 10/10 and provides everything in detail. While there can be a lot of uncertainty when purchasing real estate, Kim puts her all into providing you answers to the best of her ability. One of the things we like the most about Paraiso is that they work with legal professionals from out of state. While this may seem like a drawback at first, there's a reason for this. There is a lot of corruption and scamming in tulum. Working with long established professionals from older cities such as Merida and Chetumal, they're able to reduce the risk for their clients.

Bellenty does it all. Real Estate, property management and even construction. See their Bellenty Villas Appreciation video. It's clear that these guys are immersed in the local culture. We liked that they actually speak spanish (local). Too many foreigners live in their bubble and don't make the effort. This can hurt clients when negotiations begin. This doesn't seem to be the case with these guys.
Bellenty can guide you through the proper documentation which changed in 2014 and absolutely requires an invoice. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Bellenty offers an unrushed, relationship based service that leaves you feeling comfortable that he is doing the right things for the right reasons. Our team spent 30 minutes on the phone with this candidate.

While we typically like to only like to promote 3 Brokerages or Real Estate Teams per city, we wanted to add in this honorable mention. Eric and Silvia's focus is a little different. While everybody says they do everything, it is very apparent that this team specializes in Land for development.
The more pieces there are to a puzzle, the easier it is for communication to breakdown or things to get lost. We really like that Silvia's partner, eric is a lawyer and handles the deals internally.
This team focuses on land in region 8 and region 15 and can help you look for the true return on your investment rather than what is pitched to you by less than credible sources. This team will make sure you might the right decisions at the right time, regardless of their commissions.
